Mooroolbark East Primary School, situated in Taylor Road Mooroolbark, was established in 1972. The school is set in a peaceful environment of natural, landscaped grounds and spacious sporting areas. It is on the edge of a more established area of Mooroolbark but is also in close proximity to new estates incorporating around 400 home sites.
The school consists of three main buildings and six portable classrooms. The office area, Global Education (library), toilet areas and canteen have been refurbished and rebuilt. In 2010, as part of the BER initiative, an extension of six, state of the art classrooms and large centre space were built for senior students. Our hall and music room are also wonderful additions to the school’s facilities. There is a large oval and two adventure playgrounds with the playground areas.
In addition, notebooks, Apple iPads and iMacs have become part of our school’s resources for students in 2013. The school also uses three banks each of notebooks and iPads in classrooms.
Currently there is a substantial refurbishment and building project at the school which should be completed by the end of 2017.
Our school sees the education process as a joint responsibility between the school and the family.
All children are encouraged to develop to their optimum potential and the school is committed to making provision for individual differences. Emphasis is placed on those skills which will enable students to be flexible and open-minded to new developments.
